Why did we choose to do this song?

1. The Lyrics

This song meets all the qualifications for things we look for in lyrics to a new song.  It is full of meaningful truth, it is clear, it is creatively said and yet easily understood.  Jesus proved with his incredible love that we can trust Him and our response is clear: He is calling us to follow Him and we are trying to answer that call.

2. The Music

The music fits what we are looking for too:  It’s very singable melody that is quite memorable and catchy.  It clearly helps to express the same meaning as the words.  Full of fun modern pop stylings: Fun drum loop. Cool organ solo part. Catchy guitar riff. What more do you want?

3. Fitting Congregational Prayer

Pastor Mitch is preaching through the book of Mark, so discipleship and the call of Jesus is an obvious theme that we are thinking about.  As Jesus disciples, we want to closely follow our master and do everything that He did, the way he did it.  Lord, reveal to us where you are going, where you are staying, when you move, whom you want us to focus on loving, how you want us to serve … even if it costs us our life, we trust you, we will follow YOU!
