Cedarhome Kids - Gospel project coming feb 2015.001On February 1st, 2015 we will kick off our new program for Kids to go to during the sermon and the new curriculum and format for children’s Sunday School hour.  We want to make sure every kid that comes to Cedarhome gets to hear the Good News about Jesus and how it ties in to every story in the Bible.  All of the scriptures point to Jesus!

Jesus said in John 5:39 “You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me!” ( NLT)

If you want to join the team, let us know!

If you missed out on our info night (Oct 29th) we wanted you to at least be able to learn a little bit about what our plan is.  We are planning on having both Junior Church and Kids Sunday School use this curriculum.  After our time of worship through song, we allow parents who wish to send their kids ages 3-9 over to Junior Church.  And many of our families choose to participate in all ages Sunday School classes which go from 10:00-10:45.  We have teen and adult classes as well during this time.

So starting in January, both in Junior Church and in Sunday School, our leaders for kids ministry will all be using the “Gospel Project for Kids”.  We will be printing handouts for parents and kids in the office.  There is an iOS app with games and puzzles and devotions and videos and tons more.  The app is free and the content is just $2.99 per quarter.  That way you can watch all the same stories, discussion starters, songs, … with your kids all through the week and all the kids will be learning the same basic lesson, each at their own level.

You can check out the app (it has some free demo material too!) at:

Here’s a short video with even more explanation:

Finally, if you are ready to jump in and be part of our team for Junior Church, we would love to have you contact Matt Mekelburg , the deacon who is currently coordinating the transition and implementation of this new curriculum.  We are hoping to plug in rotating teams of people, including parents, to serve once every couple of months for a service. It is super simple to watch the videos with the kids, sing and do the motions with the kids and then ask and help them answer questions about what they are learning that day.  All of us can do it!  It’s coming up soon, so get ready to jump in by contacting Matt! Thanks!
