We are thrilled to announce that we have reached our goal of $15,000 to build a well in rural Swaziland!  And we are PRAISING GOD that he was able to use our money to build TWO wells for the price of one!  A variety of different pieces “happened” to fall into place, so that God did more with our money than we could have anticipated!  Now, there will be TWO wells to provide water to two different areas, and there will also be water spickets along the road for children walking to school and for travelers.  The wells were successfully drilled last month, and the solar panels and other hardware will be installed this fall.  Thank you for joining our church and Wetsembekile Ministries to make a difference in people’s lives on earth and for eternity in Jesus’ name!

We’re excited to share that people have already donated $6,045 for the solar-powered well for Swaziland!  Our goal is $15,000.  This well will be built in rural Swaziland, where children and grandmas are used to walking several miles every day to find water.  This well will provide CLEAN water to people where they LIVE!  Clean water will help prevent illnesses, it will hydrate people who live in a place that often exceeds 100 degrees, it will help children focus on school and on being kids, it will water gardens so that they can grow food, it will raise the morale of this community that’s experienced a terrible drought for many years, and it will be a place where people will hear about the love of God and the eternal life he offers through faith in his Son Jesus, who died for our sins and rose for our justification!   Please continue to give to this great need, so that God’s name be made more famous in Swaziland!  You can donate online by going to this page, (http://cedarhome.org/give/) select “other designated giving,” and put “Swaziland well” in the comment section. Thanks!

water for swazis with boys

We are excited to partner with our friends Mxolisi and Erica Myeni with Wetsembekile Ministries to build a solar-powered well in rural Swaziland.  Swaziland has the highest HIV/AIDS rate in the world, with an estimated 30-40% of the population infected.  Swaziland has also experienced a devastating drought over the past 25+ years, which has decimated the agricultural economy, food supply, and accessibility to clean water.  Almost half of the population is under the age 18.  By digging a well, children and families will be able to have clean drinking water close to their homesteads, which will help prevent disease, provide irrigation for nearby garden plots, provide food and jobs, raise morale in the community, and offer lots of opportunities to tell people about Jesus!  The wells cost around $15,000 from start to finish.  Please partner with us as we help the poor, sick, and dying in the name of Jesus Christ!  If you’d like to donate to this project, you can send a check to “Cedarhome Baptist Church” with “Africa Well” in the memo to: Cedarhome Baptist Church, 29000 68th Ave NW, Stanwood, WA 98292
