August 17th – 19th: Stanwood/Camano Men’s Campout at Camano Island State Park group camp and cabins with other area churches. $30 per man will cover your food, camping and parking for the weekend… including a Crab & Rib feed on Saturday night!

VBS Update – Friday May 11

We’ve got most of our team slots in place, but here are the openings, just in case you are ready to join the team. If you can help us, contact the church office or Nancy Hansen!

Games Coordinator – Friday only
2 Dramatic Storytellers – Monday or Friday, 1 day each
4 total for: Guides for Pre-K, 4th Grade, and 5th grade
18 – Middle/High School helpers to be assistant guides for each grade level
Bible Memory Games Coordinator
Decorations Coordinator and team – 3 or 4 areas (Woodsy/Camping theme)
3′s class teachers and helpers (2 adults, 2 teens) (for helpers kids)
2 Nursery helpers
Skit Coordinator and 5 student actors (middle school to college age)

Join the Fun! VBS helpers wanted!

We already have a great team of people who have volunteered to lead and help with VBS. It’s not too late to join the party. Most specifically we are looking for a decorations coordinator. We have some helpers already, but we need a leader for this. We are sure that just about everyone can pitch in towards our summer outreach somehow. Take a look through the names below and if you still have questions, talk to Nancy Hansen, Nicole Mitchell or contact the church office!

As you can see, we’ve got a great set of leaders already signed up. We still need a Decoration Coordinator, 4th Grade Guide(s) and lots of helpers (middle schoolers and high schooler are welcome too! hint hint …) We also need some more help and a care coordinator for the helpers children, AKA Nursery coordinator & 3′s teacher/lead (and helpers) for kids 0-2 and a 3 yr old class. Even if you can just help in the nursery 1 day, we would love to know!

Also, even if you are going to be out of town or at work that week, maybe you could help prepare snacks, crafts, decorations, etc…

Thanks to all who have already volunteered. May the Lord send even more workers into his harvest, and may the harvest be rich for His Name’s Sake!

A Taste of Broadway

Show and Tell Family Projects, a local theatre group, presents “A Taste of Broadway”. I am so excited to tell you that we are having another Focus Worship Workshop at Cedarhome, and this one is shaping up to be even better than the last one!

We had lots of positive feedback on our last one and the #1 area for improvement last time was having classes with more structure, descriptions and separation into beginner and advanced sections, so this is how the schedule is going to line up for this time:

“Creating Moments” Professional Coaching for Worship Teams

This session will help your worship team move from simply playing a set of songs, to creating and accentuate heart-moving moments in every song you lead. How to move from orchestra pit musicians who have been mistakenly put on the platform, to a team of lead worshippers, engaging the congregation and inspiring them to worship. Led by well-known band coach, Ali Anderson, and producer-composer/arranger-recording mixing engineer, Scott Anderson.

Memorial Service for Jody May this Saturday, April 14 at 4pm @ Cedarhome

Jody May passed away this past Easter Sunday afternoon, April 8th. Her husband of almost 60 years and the family welcome anyone who knew Jody to come out to a memorial service at 4:00 pm this Saturday, April 14th at Cedarhome Baptist Church in the old chapel (not the new building). There will be a reception following the service in the fellowship hall. If you would like to bring something to share, feel free.
