30 Hour Famine April 24th-25th

April 24th-25th is the 30-Hour Famine!  During this overnight retreat, we’re
going to fast together, serve together, and learn about how YOU can
change the world by fighting poverty and hunger!  Cost is $30, which will
pay for food and Christian nurture of an orphan in a third world country for
one month.  Don’t miss out on this life-changing experience!

Support Youth Missions Team!

Please support the Cedarhome Youth Ministry’s mission trip to the
Yakama Indian Reservation!  The team of 15 will serve on the reservation
from July 5-10, 2009.  Please consider supporting us through one of our
three upcoming fundraisers: Parents Night Out (April 18), Haggen Car Wash
(May 3), Talent Show (June 5).  More information to come!

1. This Thursday: TRUE STORY! How is God working in the lives of teenagers in our youth group?  Come to The Living Room the next four weeks to hear from other middle school and high school students about how their lives are being transformed by Christ!  This is going to be such a cool month, because the messages are given to teenagers, by teenagers!  I hope you join us to hear these powerful stories!  We’ll also have rockin’ worship, some crazy games, good friends, free food, and lots of fun!  Be there at 6:30PM on Thursday!  You DON’T want to miss youth group this month! (PLEASE NOTE: Instead of “Cash Night” on April 9th, we are having our TRUE STORY series at youth group.)

2. The Youth Take Over! Don’t miss the youth takeover at church this Sunday, April 5th!  Teenagers are going to take over the church for both services!  I’ll be preaching the sermon, the youth group worship band lead worship, and I want tons of teen greeters to welcome people as they enter the parking lot and come into the sanctuary!  Please let me know if I can count on you to help out!

4. March Madness STANDINGS! Here are the current standings for our March Madness pool, as of last Thursday: tied for first place are Jordan Hope and Jake O’Brien.  In second place is the amazing Cindy Hallock.  Tied for third place are Tristin Ferris and Bryan Kerr.  We’ll report the newest standings this Thursday night at youth group.  The winner of the pool will get a $15 I-Tunes gift card!

5. MAKE A DIFFERENCE!: SIGN UP NOW for the 30-Hour Famine!: April 24th-25th is the 30-Hour Famine!  During the weekend, we’re going to hang out together, serve together, and learn about how YOU can change the world by fighting poverty and hunger!  To be in on all the fun, you need to pay $30 of your own money, which you can earn by saving your own money or by working for it (we don’t want your folks just to give you $30, because it won’t be as meaningful that way).  The $30 each student raises will pay for the water, food, housing, and Christian nurture of an orphan in a third world country for ONE MONTH.  If we have 36 students each raise $30, we will be able to take care of one orphan for 3 years!  Sign up for the retreat ASAP, so I can know how many to plan for, and so I know that you’ll commit to raising $30! DON’T MISS OUT on this awesome opportunity to MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE in a needy child’s life and to have YOUR life changed!

6. Student Bibles are HERE!:   Thanks for being patient everyone–the Studen Life Application Bibles are now in!  If you’d like to buy one, I get them for 60% off, so they’re only $10.  Checks should be made to Cedarhome Baptist Church.  You can pick yours up at youth group this week!
